Browsing Homes

Recently when I get bored or want a distraction during the day, I've been browsing through the local house listings. Given that we've been seeing a large influx of people and with a lot of money coming into the area some of the listings are pretty impressive. Naturally all of that is currently a dream, but browsing through all the listings has reinforced certain preferences in living quarters. As an example I strongly prefer below-counter sinks versus countertop sinks and rainfall showers that aren't directly above the drain. I've come to realize a whole host of preferences I have for every aspect of a home, including materials and layout. Unfortunately this kind of comes with my picky nature. Naturally inspired by architectural design, I went ahead and started playing Prison Architect, because I'm a terrible person.

Fountain Pens!

The other day I bought myself my first fountain pen, and so began a new adventure. Pressing down on the nib to release the flow of ink seems so much more elegant than using a ballpoint or felt-tip pen, and the ink smells really good when it flows through the pen. I feel like once I get used to writing with a fountain pen, there will be no going back to the ballpoint. The only detraction thus far is that the ink in the nib will dry up when I leave the pen lying around uncapped, but I suppose that's part of the learning curve.

The other day in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania I saw a commercial for moonshine. It reminds me of how redneck this place is...

These guys make all sorts of fancy fixings, ranging from their standard moonshine and apple pie moonshine to moonshine salsas and BBQ sauces. Fancy, huh. I'd try to get my hands on some of that apple pie moonshine, but maybe once I get back to California I'll see if I can find it.

Also, they don't have a distributor in PA. Imagine that...

Death by Caffeine

Here's a pretty nifty site. You basically input a caffeinated beverage and your weight and it calculates how many drinks you would have drink at once for the caffeine to kill you. Don't try to input anything like Four Loko, as the site won't list alcoholic beverages.
